The Senior Utility Worker in Wastewater Effluent Recharge reports to the Wastewater Utility Supervisor. The primary job duties of this position include:
- Participate in the training of new employees and oversee daily activities and work of utility workers.
- Performs repairs and maintenance on the wastewater system.
- Operate a variety of equipment, machinery, and tools, including a utility truck, heavy machinery such as a dump truck, backhoe, track hoe, CCTV equipment, and combination sewer cleaners.
- Monitors water volumes that are delivered to basins and customer sites.
- Troubleshoots system problems and makes recommendations for corrective actions.

- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1-2 years of specialized or technical training beyond high school in water, wastewater, and pesticides.
- 3-5 years of experience in operating heavy equipment, pipe fitting, and plumbing principles and practices.
- You must be available to work four 10-hour shifts within our operating schedule of Monday through Friday, 4:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
- This position may require after-hours work as needed.
- Class A Commercial Driver's License with Tanker Endorsement at the time of hire.
- ADEQ Grade I Water Distribution Certification at the time of hire or promotion, and Grade II Water Distribution Certification at the time of hire or promotion. (The certification required will be dependent on the area of assignment.)
- A Pesticide Applicator's License from the Arizona Office of Pest Management may be required within one year of hire, depending on the area of assignment.
