Team Gilbert is seeking highly motivated candidates to join our Crime Scene Dream Team! The Crime Scene Specialist job family is responsible for responding to and processing all types of crime scenes; collecting and preserving physical and biological evidence; performing crime scene photography, shoe and tire impression photography; and conducting latent print processing. This job family is also responsible for completing all data entry related to crimes scene duties and writing reports of findings and testifies in court on their findings. This class is responsible for performing related duties as required.

The primary responsibilities for our Crime Scene Specialists include (but are not limited to):
- Respond to all types of crime scenes to document, collect, preserve, and impound evidence.
- Responsible for identifying, collecting, and preserving evidence at crime scenes in support of law enforcement activities.
- Photographs crime and accident scenes to record the appearance of evidence using highly skilled photographic and evidence gathering techniques.
- Performs luminescent photography.
- Performs presumptive tests on suspected biological stains.
- Identifies, collects, and secures physical evidence including: blood, body fluids, hair, fibers, and firearms for laboratory testing and use as evidence in criminal prosecutions.
- Photographs and fingerprints suspects, victims (including deceased individuals), witnesses, and applicants.

Candidates for the Crime Scene Specialist position must possess:
- Associates degree; or
- At least two years’ full-time experience as a Crime Scene Specialist (or equivalent position) with a law enforcement agency.
- An equivalent combination of education and job-related experience may substitute for the education requirements on a year-for-year basis.
- Must meet the qualifications to wear a tight fitting respirator by passing a medical evaluation in accordance with Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 1910.34 by hire or promotion date and must maintain certification.
- Valid Arizona Driver's License.
- Salary range for a Crime Scene Specialist: $25.43- $36.88 Hourly
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology; Chemistry; Criminalistics; Forensic Science; or a related field.
- 3 years of full-time experience as a Crime Scene Specialist or equivalent position with a law enforcement agency.
- Certified Crime Scene Investigator (CCSI) through the International Association for Identification (IAI).
- Must meet the qualifications to wear a tight fitting respirator by passing a medical evaluation in accordance with Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 1910.34 by hire or promotion date and must maintain certification.
- Valid Arizona Driver's License.
- Salary Range for a Crime Scene Specialist Senior: $28.55 - $41.40 Hourly
