This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with time being split between telecommuting from home and working in the office. Telecommuting privileges are approved at the sole discretion of the supervisor and department management; as such, the department reserves the right to modify or discontinue telecommuting arrangements at any point. Regardless of work location (Remote, On-Site, or Hybrid), Town of Gilbert employees are required to reside in the State of Arizona.

The Senior Accounts Payable Technician reports to the Accounting Supervisor. The primary job duties of this position include:
- Provides lead accounts payable decisions related to more complex issues with vendors, invoices and Town departments;
- Provides functional direction and guidance to Accounts Payable Technicians to accomplish the goals of the unit;
- Trains all new employees and assists with training on new policies, procedures, and system updates;
- Ensure that workflow and rotating responsibilities of other AP Technicians is equitable, fair, and best meets the Town’s objectives for timely and accurate process and procedures;

- At least one year of specialized or technical training beyond high school in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance;
- 4 years of experience running full cycle Accounts Payable for a large organization and internal and external customer service;
- 4 years of combined education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job;
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations;
- Knowledge of bookkeeping and customer service principles and practices;
- Experience in management or leading work-teams;
- Experience with electronic vendor payments;
- Skill in conducting research and solving problems;
- Valid Arizona Driver's License.

This position is an At-Will position and is FLSA Non-Exempt – eligible for overtime compensation.
