The Building Inspector I reports to the Building Inspector Senior. The primary job duties of this position include:

This position is an At-Will position and is FLSA Non-Exempt - eligible for overtime compensation.

The Building Inspector I reports to the Building Inspector Senior. The primary job duties of this position include:
- Perform inspections and coordinate related inspection activities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, specifications, plans and ordinances.
- Review building and site plans, engineering reports, electrical diagrams and other inspection-related documents.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of inspections and code compliance activities.
- Document and enter inspection information in computer databases.
- Coordinate with all parties to obtain and verify approval of plans or to facilitate proper procedures in adherence to codes, regulations and standards
- Respond to complaints and questions regarding potential code violations.
- Conduct field inspections of residential structures and/or materials to include structural, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, fire sprinklers and related systems;

- A High School Diploma or GED.
- 2 - 3 years of experience in construction, construction management, framing, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, or related field.
- 2 International Code Council Certifications from the residential inspector category (Building) or obtained within one year of hire.
- Valid Arizona Driver's License.
