Job Description
Under direction from the Town Council, the Town Manager serves as the administrative head of the Town having responsibility for the proper administration of all affairs of the town government. Working directly with the Department Heads, the Town Manager is responsible for ensuring accountability throughout the organization, the achievement of tangible results, and the implementation of policies of the Town Council in an effective manner; work involves planning, budget and financial management, problem solving and organizing with the authority to make decisions as well as delegate to others; the work environment is relatively unpredictable and requires the ability to manage many projects at once and exhibit flexibility in the face of change; although governed by policies, the Manager must frequently act without precedent.

Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, finance, human resources, or a closely related field, along with at least five years of progressively responsible local government experience, is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating similar levels of responsibility and complexity may also be considered. Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree in public administration, business administration, or a related discipline; at least ten years of local government experience, including service as a municipal manager or assistant manager; and the ICMA-CM designation.
