Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated Jr Escrow Officer or Escrow Assistant looking to graduate to an Escrow Officer to join our independently owned Escrow Office. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of escrow processes, and proven expertise in managing complex transactions with efficiency and professionalism.
As an integral part of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the closing of real estate transactions, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, and providing outstanding customer service to both clients and business partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the escrow process from opening to closing.
- Oversee the preparation of escrow instructions, documents, and closing statements.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, agents, lenders, and other stakeholders.
- Review contracts and coordinate with buyers, sellers, real estate agents, and lenders to facilitate successful closings.
- Maintain compliance with the DFPI, local, state, and federal regulations regarding escrow and real estate transactions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, real estate agents, and other industry partners.
- Grow and manage your book of business while contributing to the company’s growth.
- Address any issues that arise during the closing process, ensuring timely and accurate resolution.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly and promptly with all parties involved.
- Maintain accurate records, files, and reports on escrow transactions.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Jr Escrow Officer or an Escrow Assistant
- A small book of business is a plus
- In-depth knowledge of escrow practices, procedures, and regulations.
- Strong familiarity with real estate contracts, title reports, and loan documents.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficiency in escrow software and technology systems.
- State-required licenses or certifications for escrow officers (if applicable).
- Must be eligible for bonding through the EAFC (Escrow Agents’ Fidelity Corporation).
- Must pass a judicial background check through DFPI.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with residential and/or commercial real estate transactions.
- Existing relationships with real estate agents, lenders, and title companies.
- Willingness to learn new transactions such as Mobile Homes, Asset Transfers, ABC Liquor License Transfers and 1031 Exchanges.
