Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Bookkeeper role based at Town and Country Animal Hospital in Miami, FL. The Bookkeeper will manage day-to-day financial recordkeeping, including recording transactions, preparing and posting journal entries, and maintaining accurate ledgers. Responsibilities include reconciling bank and credit card statements, assisting with the preparation of financial statements, and monitoring accounts payable and receivable. The role involves using accounting software to process invoices, payments, and payroll-related data, as well as generating regular financial reports for management. The Bookkeeper will collaborate with hospital leadership to support budgeting, cash flow tracking, and compliance with internal controls and relevant financial policies.
Qualifications
- Strong foundational skills in Bookkeeping and Finance, with experience managing daily transaction recording and account balances.
- Ability to prepare, review, and interpret Financial Statements to support decision-making and performance monitoring.
- Proficiency with Accounting Software and related tools used for invoicing, payroll, reporting, and general ledger maintenance.
- Experience creating and posting accurate Journal Entries (Accounting) and reconciling accounts on a regular schedule.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a busy clinical environment.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with veterinarians, managers, and support staff.
- Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience in a small business, healthcare, or veterinary setting preferred.
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
