Equipment Engineer, Dry Etch

Responsible to sustain, optimize, and improve Semiconductor Equipment performance and reliability in Dry etch area: Applied Materials DPS Metal, Applied Materials DPS Poly, Applied Materials EMAX Oxide, Applied Materials MxP Oxide, Applied Materials MxP Oxide, Applied Materials Super-E platforms. Other system types such as LAM2300, LAM 4400, LAM4500, LAM9400, TEL Unity-ME SCCM, Axcelis Fusion Asher and SPTS DRIE and Applied Materials Producer experience is also desirable. Lead all maintenance activities scheduled and unscheduled on assigned equipment. Provide leadership, guidance and assistance to area technicians, drive cost savings projects, generate and execute on time improvement projects on assigned equipment. Work with Process, Production, Procurement, and Facility groups.

• Work toward achieving and exceeding assigned goals such as Equipment availability, MTTR, MTBF
• Eliminate reoccurring equipment failures by devising new approaches and developing solutions to complex problems
• Optimize preventive maintenance procedures and provide clear instructions and documentation to technicians
• Work with equipment vendors or second source companies to modify parts and improve Equipment performance
• Identify opportunities for reducing maintenance and operating costs and provide cost studies for preventive maintenance activities. Optimize spare parts inventory and reduce spares cost.
• Lead the process of evaluating new equipment or software and make recommendations to meet TowerJazz business objectives. Perform source inspections at the vendor site as required, and work with facilities and the vendor to meet installation schedules.
• Work with the Process Engineering group on identifying opportunities to improve yield, and maintaining equipment process parameters within specifications
• Identify and implement sustaining capital upgrades that can increase tool performance, with associated ROI justification
• Work with IE, Production, and Process groups on identifying opportunities to improve cycle time
• Provide a monthly report summarizing all maintenance and project activities
• Work with a high level of autonomy according to managerial priorities
• Comply with all ISO requirements and be able to develop new ISO procedures as needed.
• Ability to travel to domestic and international Tower sites to provide support as needed

Job Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline
• Minimum 5 years of experience supporting and maintaining Semiconductor Equipment, with strong problem solving, and troubleshooting skills to a component level on Applied Materials DPS Metal, Applied Materials DPS Poly, Applied Materials EMAX Oxide, Applied Materials MxP Oxide, Applied Materials MxP Oxide, Applied Materials Super-E platforms, LAM2300, LAM 4400, LAM4500, LAM9400, TEL Unity-ME SCCM, Axcelis Fusion Asher and SPTS DRIE.
• In depth knowledge of equipment functionality, subcomponents, control circuit, and its process parameters is required.
• Thorough knowledge of measurement instrumentations, electro-mechanical devices, vacuum systems, Robotics/Sensors, and strong engineering/Technology skills is a must.
• Candidate must have the ability to conduct data and statistical analysis to evaluate equipment performance.
• Strong leadership and computer skills are required.

Compensation:

$114,000 - $140,000
