Job Purpose

• Provide exceptional service to our valued customers. This includes servicing our customers at the registers and deli as well as stocking products, unloading trucks and ensuring a clean and inviting environment for our customers.

Essential Job Functions

• Assist customers by providing information and resolving their complaints
• Balance register and perform cash drops
• Establish or identify prices of goods, services or admission, and tabulate bills using cash registers or optical price scanners
• Greet customers entering establishments and answer customers' questions.
• Issue receipts, refunds, credits or change due to customers
• Maintain clean and orderly check-out areas and complete other general cleaning duties such as mopping floors, emptying trash cans and wiping down gas pumps
• Perform additional duties as prescribed by Management
• Process merchandise returns and exchanges
• Properly pack customers’ groceries
• Receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers or automatic debits
• Sell lottery and scratcher tickets and other items to customers
• Stock shelves, build and rotate merchandise displays and mark prices on shelves and items
• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes or silverware.
• Follow proper sanitation and food safety procedures, including cleaning all food equipment and work stations throughout the day and at the close of a shift
• Mix ingredients for green salads, molded fruit salads, vegetable salads and pasta salads
• Place food trays over food warmers for immediate service or store them in refrigerated storage cabinets
• Portion and wrap food or place it directly on plates for service to customers
• Prepare a variety of foods including, but not limited to- burritos, chicken strips, fried foods, meats, vegetables, fruits, sandwiches, salads, soups, pizzas, hot dogs, or beverages according to customers' orders or supervisors' instructions, following approved procedures
• Receive and store food supplies, equipment and utensils in refrigerators, cupboards and other storage areas
• Store food in designated containers and storage areas to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage
• Take and record temperature of food and food storage areas such as refrigerators and freezers
• Take food orders and relay orders to the Deli Supervisor for proper planning and scheduling
• Wash, peel and cut various foods, such as fruits and vegetables, to prepare for cooking or serving
• Weigh or measure ingredients

Physical Requirements

• Cut merchandise cases open in a safe manner
• Perform physical activities for up to three hours that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting and carrying up to 63 pounds, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
• Stamina to stand for 8 hours
• Clean and sanitize all Commercial Food Equipment thoroughly and safely
• Perform physical activities, for up to three hours, that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting and carrying up to 63 pounds, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials
• Stamina to stand for 8 hours
• Thoroughly and regularly wash and sanitize hands
• Use and maintain the following equipment: Fryer, Commercial Service Scales, Hot Dog warmer, Knife sharpener, Meat slicer and Ovens: Convection, Conventional and Rotisserie
• Ventilation Hood- take apart for cleaning
• Wrap Station- properly wrap food and maintain adequate supplies
• Maintain beverage machines: Soda Fountain, Coffee Brewer, Icee Machine

Working Conditions

• Work in a cold room or cooler (Down to -15 degrees)
• Work in damp, wet or dusty conditions
• Work outside in all weather conditions
• Work with cleaning chemicals
• Work with exposure to loud noises

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.50 per hour
