Overview
- The Mammography Technologist administers ionizing radiation when performing screening and/or diagnostic mammograms according to established protocols.
- The Mammography Technologist demonstrates an understanding of breast anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology as they relate to the procedure.
- Maintains a high degree of accuracy in breast positioning, exposure techniques, and subsequent evaluation of imaging parameters to optimize patient imaging and care while adhering to radiation protection and safety standards.
- They integrate technical skills, patient interaction, and care to obtain viable diagnostic information as ordered by the physician.
- The Technologist utilizes independent professional judgment and critical thinking to obtain the resultant diagnostic information when possible and seeks direction from a MQSA qualified interpreting physician or lawful institutional policies (or standards of care) to continue or discontinue the exam.
- They are sensitive to the physical, cultural, and emotional needs of the patient through good communication, patient assessment, patient monitoring, and patient care skills in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner.
- The Mammography Technologist participates in quality improvement processes and continually assesses their professional performance.
- Comprehends the complexities of appropriate state and federal regulations and have knowledge of the quality control and quality assurance requirements for mammography.
Monday - Friday 10:30am-7:00pm
Every 3rd weekend
Saturday Call
Bone Density- will train, if needed

- Post High School Diploma Program
Experience
