Tovey / Shultz Construction, Inc. (TS) is a Commercial General Contractor seeking a motivated Project Engineer to join our growing team. This position will be based primarily out of our Lake Elsinore office, with occasional jobsite meetings and visits. Depending on the project, some work may be performed directly at the project site.
At TS, our Project Engineers are the front-line drivers of project success. They play a critical role in planning, coordination, and the day-to-day execution of construction projects—serving as a key liaison between Project Managers, subcontractors, and field teams. We are actively looking to add the next great Project Engineer to our stellar lineup.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and overall management of construction projects
- Manage submittals, RFIs, and approval processes
- Coordinate with architects, designers, owners, subcontractors, and field staff
- Support construction schedule development, tracking, and updates
- Distribute and track contract documents and bid packages
- Review subcontractor proposals for scope, qualifications, and recommendations
- Assist in developing effective scopes of work for bid packages
- Serve as the central "information hub" between office and field personnel
- Provide technical support to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and applicable codes
- Assist with change orders, material procurement, jobsite equipment, and estimating efforts
- Monitor and track quality control activities and report issues to the Project Manager or Superintendent
- Inspect work for compliance with plans and specifications
- Maintain complete, accurate, and current project documentation
- Coordinate project photos and documentation for monthly progress reports
- Prepare daily logs and jobsite photo documentation
- Assist with project close-out activities as needed
Qualifications
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
- Working knowledge of contract documents
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational, technical, and administrative abilities
- Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project
- Experience with Bluebeam and Procore strongly preferred
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
- Strong sense of urgency and accountability

Pay: $70, $95,000.00 per year
