Security Coordinator:
Touro is seeking a part-time Security Coordinator who will work closely with the Director of Operations to manage evening and weekend security needs. The successful candidate is a tactical thinker with problem solving ability. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Security Coordinator will assist in ensuring proper security coverage and liaising with third-party security contractors and volunteers.
Responsibilities
- Serve as on-site point of contact for evening and weekend security needs
- Problem-solve onsite as needed
- Manage all security-related logistics while onsite
- Coordinate and maintain relationships with third-party security vendors to ensure effective incident response and service level agreements are met
- Identify potential threats, vulnerabilities, and hazards
Schedule:
Part-Time hourly -- primarily evenings and weekends, with some daytime responsibilities as well, dependent on our synagogue events and services
Qualifications:
- High school diploma; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, security management, or a related field or equivalent work experience preferred
- 2-5 years of experience in a security-related field such as corporate security, law enforcement, or the military
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Creative thinking and problem solving abilities
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
- Ability to prioritize, make decisions quickly, and exercise initiative and sound judgment
- Strong attention to detail
- Professional certifications highly preferred
- Appreciation of faith-based organizations but not required to be Jewish. Familiarity with Jewish ritual, holiday, and life-cycle traditions preferred.

Compensation:
This is an hourly position. Compensation is commensurate with experience and will likely fall within $27-29/hour
