Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems for accurate classification of mental health conditions
- Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions utilizing therapeutic modalities such as psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA)
- Implement crisis intervention strategies to manage acute behavioral or emotional emergencies effectively and safely
- Facilitate intake processes for new patients, ensuring comprehensive documentation in medical records while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating social work principles, case management techniques, and patient-centered goals
- Provide specialized counseling for issues such as grief, addiction, PTSD care, gender identity concerns, chronic pain management, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals across disciplines to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity of services in outpatient or inpatient settings
- Utilize telehealth platforms to deliver remote counseling sessions while maintaining high standards of clinical documentation and medical terminology accuracy
- Engage in clinical research activities or data collection efforts to support ongoing program development and quality improvement initiatives
Experience
- Proven experience in mental health counseling or clinical social work within outpatient or inpatient settings
- Demonstrated expertise in psychotherapy techniques including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA)
- Strong background working with children, adolescents, adults with disabilities, geriatrics or special populations such as those with autism spectrum disorder or developmental delays
- Experience conducting diagnostic evaluations using ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems; familiarity with CPT coding is a plus
- Skilled in crisis management and crisis intervention strategies for diverse behavioral health emergencies
- Proficiency in medical documentation practices adhering to HIPAA regulations and medical terminology standards
- Telehealth experience preferred for delivering remote patient care effectively
- Knowledge of social work principles combined with clinical counseling techniques to support holistic patient well-being
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams while demonstrating excellent communication skills
