Touching Miami with Love (TML), a nonprofit faith based (Christian) organization serving Overtown, looking to hire for full time individual with experience providing parenting programs.
Job Summary Statement
The Parent Liaison will help facilitate weekly programming sessions, provide guidance and education on various topics related to parenting, mediating issues as needed to ensure healthy group dynamics, and ensuring that all families have access to help to build and maintain healthy, thriving families. The Parent Liaison will also be responsible for arranging meals and events to foster a sense of community and support within the program.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Facilitate weekly programming sessions for up to 15 parents
- Provide guidance and education on various topics related to parenting
- Mediate issues as needed to ensure healthy group dynamics
- Ensure that all families have access to help to build and maintain healthy, thriving families
- Arrange meals and events to foster a sense of community and support within the program
- Ensure area is cleaned after use, trash is discarded, and any left-over food is distributed to families or stored properly.
- Assist the Parent Partner with facilitating various components of the program
- Support the planning and implementation of programming and events
- Contribute to the ongoing evaluation and improvement of the program
- Support the recruiting process by identifying and engaging potential program participants
- Act as a TML representative/liaison with other referral agencies and supervise the coordination of services with outside community agencies including schools.
- Work with other program staff to ensure clients are receiving coordinated care
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with families and children
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of community resources and services
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
