Duties
- Prepare surfaces through sanding, scraping, cleaning, and applying primer to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Apply paint, stain, varnish, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, spray equipment (including airless and conventional sprayers), and other hand tools
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and surface specifications to execute precise painting tasks
- Conduct surface preparation for construction painting including plastering, caulking, and masonry work as needed
- Maintain safety protocols by using respiratory protection, adhering to OSHA regulations, and following proper handling procedures for hazardous materials
- Perform touch-ups and repairs to ensure a flawless finish on all painted surfaces
- Assist with renovation projects by installing fixtures, trim carpentry, frame carpentry, or masonry work when required
Experience
- Proven experience in construction or industrial painting with a strong understanding of surface preparation techniques
- Familiarity with residential and commercial painting methods including brush painting, roller painting, spray painting (airless and conventional)
- Knowledge of color theory for accurate color matching and visual color comparison skills
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately for precise application of coatings
- Experience working on construction sites with knowledge of safety regulations and site-specific protocols
- Skilled in using power tools, hand tools, ladders safely for elevated work tasks
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to surface area and material quantities
