Toth & Associates is a multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm looking for a versatile writer who can develop compelling content across proposals, marketing collateral, and digital channels. You'll work on a small, collaborative marketing team alongside technical staff, turning complex engineering concepts into clear, persuasive language that wins work and builds our brand.
This role offers a wide range of writing projects, proposal responses for utility infrastructure work, case studies, website content, and client-ready presentations. You’ll be most successful if you enjoy shifting between formats and audiences, staying organized, and delivering polished work on schedule.
What You'll Do
Write and edit content across the business — proposals, statements of qualifications, project profiles, service descriptions, website pages, marketing campaigns, social media, and internal communications. You'll translate technical input from engineers into language that resonates with clients.
Drive proposal production — support the full proposal lifecycle from content development through final assembly. You'll gather input from project managers, develop themes, tailor responses to RFP requirements, and help deliver polished submittals on deadline.
Maintain and improve our content library — keep standard narratives, project descriptions, resumes, and boilerplate materials organized, current, and ready for reuse.
Collaborate across teams — work closely with the Director of Marketing, Marketing Coordinators, and technical staff to align messaging with business development strategy.
Qualifications:What We're Looking For
Must have:
- 3 years of experience in content creation, technical writing, or marketing communications
- Demonstrated proposal writing experience (RFP/RFQ responses, SOQs) in a professional services environment
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to adapt for different audiences
- Strong organizational skills, you can manage multiple deadlines and stakeholders without dropping balls
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Preferred:
- Experience in the architecture, engineering, or construction (A/E/C) industry, though strong writers from adjacent professional services fields (legal, healthcare, government contracting, IT consulting, etc.) are encouraged to apply
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Technical Writing, or a related field
