Heavy Haul Line Driver Full-Time Individual Contrib Anchorage, AK, US 30+ days ago Requisition ID: 1339 Salary Range: $34.50 To $46.25 Hourly This position is responsible for the loading, unloading, and driving of diesel-powered trucks and pulling specialized trailers, to include oversized and overweight freight within Alaska. Essential Duties · Operate safely and in compliance with all established HSSE policies and procedures · Inspect truck and trailer(s) for defects through pre-trip and post-trip inspections and submit reports indicating their condition · Operate a variety of trucks and equipment, including specialized Heavy Haul equipment, under a variety of conditions, adhering to posted speed limits and all other local, state, and federal laws and regulations · Maintain driver and maintenance logs (electronic and manual) according to State and Federal regulations as well as Carlile policies and procedures. · Make customer pick-ups and deliveries in a manner that reflects superior customer service · Prepares bills of lading · Maintain hands-free telephone contact with terminal to receive accurate dispatch instructions · Ensure cargo is secured for transport according to FMCSRs and Carlile requirements · Maintain a clean work environment including swept trailer, clean cab, windows, and mirrors · Determine discrepancies in paperwork · May be required to perform emergency roadside repairs · Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications · High school diploma or GED · Class A CDL with doubles and triples endorsements · Two years of verifiable, safe, over-the-road (OTR), Line driving, or Local driving experience preferred (may differ upon location). · Must be able to enter military installations · TWIC Card Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities · Position requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and meet regulatory deadlines. · Impeccable character, integrity, and unfailing initiative in a team environment · Must be experienced to operate in snow and ice road conditions and be able to chain-up. · Ability to work various shifts and days of the week · Record of safe and competent driving as demonstrated on driver’s abstract and driving files. · Excellent written and verbal communication skills · Must have a basic mechanical background and aptitude coupled with the knowledge of how a diesel truck operates. · Ability to supervise pilot car drivers and direct pilot car activity · Position may require one to be out on the road 60%-80% of the time · Must be able to prioritize daily task and assignments · Must be customer focused.
