Job Summary:
Under the supervision of licensed nursing staff and in accordance with established guidelines, the Student Nurse (Licensed Vocational or Registered) is an active participant in the implementation of individualized patient care including but not limited to patient vital signs, assisting with personal hygiene/ADLs, feeding and ambulating patients. The Student Nurse position provides an opportunity for pre-licensure nursing students capable of providing entry-level care, to perform a variety of high quality, patient centered interventions for patients with a broad range of health issues. The Student Nurse may also function as Patient Care Aide and is responsible for providing quality care as it relates to providing close and continuous patient observation of pediatric patients who may be at risk for adverse events such as falls, self-injury or harm to others.

Qualifications

Requirements:
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant certification preferred
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current enrollment and in good standing with an accredited school of nursing
• Successful completion of a fundamental/foundations nursing course
• Unofficial transcripts with a minimum of 3.0 GPA in nursing coursework
