Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding service to enhance their shopping experience
- Assist customers with product demos, answering questions to highlight features and benefits
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately for transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
- Upsell products by recommending additional items that meet customer needs and increase sales
- Maintain organized merchandising displays and ensure shelves are stocked with current products
- Manage inventory by stocking shelves, conducting stock counts, and assisting with merchandise replenishment
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when responding to inquiries or assisting customers remotely
- Support store operations through basic cashiering duties, retail math calculations, and ensuring accurate cash register balances
- Supervise or assist with team members when needed, fostering a collaborative environment
- Actively support local marketing initiatives by setting up promotional tables outside the store, engaging passersby, distributing flyers, and clearly communicating current offers and promotions to drive customer interest.
- Represent the store at community and promotional events by interacting with potential customers, handing out marketing materials, and effectively explaining products, services, and ongoing deals.
- Proactively contribute to customer outreach efforts by initiating conversations, building rapport with prospects, and promoting brand awareness both in-store and through external marketing activities.
- Support the store’s digital presence by creating and posting content on social media platforms, including promoting current offers, sharing flyers, and uploading engaging videos to increase brand visibility and customer engagement.
- Actively participate in social media marketing initiatives by maintaining up-to-date promotional content, responding to audience interactions when required, and helping drive traffic to the store through consistent online outreach.
Skills
- Proven experience in retail sales or grocery store environments with strong customer service skills
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and retail math calculations
- Ability to perform product demos confidently and educate customers about features and benefits
- Bilingual skills are a plus to serve diverse customer needs effectively
- Excellent communication skills to engage customers clearly and professionally
- Experience in supervising or mentoring team members is preferred
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques, stocking procedures, and store presentation standards
- Strong phone etiquette for professional remote communication
- Basic math skills for transactions, inventory counts, and sales calculations
