Job Description — Financial Services Branch Manager (Bilingual Preferred)
We are seeking an experienced, reliable, and customer-focused Financial Services Branch Manager to lead daily operations at our check-cashing and money services location. Prior experience in check cashing, money services, or retail financial services management is strongly preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates are highly valued.
This role requires strong leadership, operational oversight, compliance awareness, and the ability to supervise staff while ensuring accurate financial transactions and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations
- Oversee daily store operations and staff performance
- Supervise tellers and provide training, coaching, and support
- Ensure compliance with AML, KYC, and company policies
- Monitor cash levels, vaults, and transaction controls
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports
- Ensure professional store appearance and work environment
Financial Services & Transactions
- Approve and oversee:
- Payroll, personal, government, and business check cashing
- Money orders
- Western Union money transfers and wire transfers
- Prepaid debit card loads and sales
- Bill payment processing
- Review and approve high-risk or exception transactions
Risk, Compliance & Security
- Verify customer identification and documentation
- Identify and escalate suspicious or fraudulent activity
- Enforce strict policy, security, and cash-control procedures
- Work closely with ownership and compliance teams when needed
Customer & Business Performance
- Maintain a high-service, customer-focused environment
- Resolve escalated customer concerns professionally
- Help drive store growth and performance goals
Requirements
- Previous experience in:
- Financial services, check cashing, or money services required
- Store, branch, or shift management highly preferred
- Strong leadership and people-management skills
- Excellent cash-handling and math skills
- High attention to detail and operational accuracy
- Strong communication and customer-service skills
- Ability to follow and enforce policies and procedures
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Comfortable using POS and financial software
- Must be able to pass background verification (where required by law)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual: English & Spanish (preferred)
- Experience with Western Union systems
- Prior senior teller, assistant manager, or branch manager experience
- Familiarity with AML / KYC / compliance workflows
