Position Overview:
The Pipefitter – General Foreman is responsible for overseeing multiple pipefitting crews and coordinating large-scale or complex projects. This senior leadership position ensures that all piping work is executed safely, on schedule, and in compliance with engineering specifications, codes, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Supervision: Manage multiple crews across job sites, providing direction, scheduling, and mentorship.
Project Planning: Develop and coordinate daily and weekly work plans, ensuring labor and materials align with project objectives.
Safety Management: Enforce safety policies, conduct audits, and lead safety meetings to maintain a zero-incident culture.
Quality Assurance: Ensure all piping installations meet design specifications, project documentation, and inspection requirements.
Communication: Serve as the key liaison between field crews, project management, and clients.
Performance Tracking: Monitor progress, maintain documentation, and report performance metrics to management.
Required Qualifications:
8 years of experience in industrial pipefitting, with at least 3 years in supervisory or foreman roles.
Expertise in pipe system installation, fabrication, and layout.
Strong leadership, scheduling, and coordination skills.
Excellent understanding of safety and quality management principles.
Preferred Experience:
Experience managing multi-trade crews and large industrial construction projects.
OSHA 30-Hour Certification or equivalent.
Proficiency in project documentation and reporting tools.
Work Environment:
Field-based with oversight of multiple job sites. Requires regular travel within project areas, site visits, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Reporting Structure:
Reports to the Project Superintendent or Project Manager. Oversees Foremen, Journeyman, and Apprentice Pipefitters.
