Position Summary
The Skilled Tradesman is a hands-on residential field role responsible for installing insulation, performing sheetrock/drywall repairs and finishing, executing interior/exterior caulking and air-sealing, and assisting with mold remediation projects in accordance with company standards and applicable regulations. This role requires strong craftsmanship, safety focus, and customer-service skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Insulation & Air Sealing
- Install fiberglass batt, blown-in cellulose/fiberglass, and spray foam (if certified) per spec.
- Identify and seal common leakage points (attics, basements, rim joists, penetrations).
- Set up containment, ventilation, and cleanup to maintain a safe, tidy work area.
- Drywall/Sheetrock
- Perform demolition as needed; hang, tape, mud, skim, and sand to paint-ready finish.
- Repair cracks, water-damage areas, and patch small to medium openings.
- Caulking & Weatherproofing
- Apply interior/exterior caulks and sealants (acrylic, silicone, polyurethane) with clean joints.
- Weatherstrip doors/windows; ensure proper expansion joints and finish quality.
- Mold Remediation (Residential)
- Set up containment, negative air, and PPE; perform HEPA vacuuming and surface cleaning.
- Apply antimicrobial agents as directed; remove contaminated porous materials per scope.
- Follow chain-of-custody for any third-party testing when applicable.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $32.00 - $55.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
