Total House Inspection is seeking a professional, detail-oriented Home Inspector to perform comprehensive residential inspections while delivering an exceptional client experience.This role requires strong technical knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to confidently guide homebuyers through one of the most important purchases of their lives. The ideal candidate is thorough, accurate, professional, and committed to maintaining high inspection and reporting standards.This is a long-term career opportunity within a growing, performance-driven company that values accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.  ResponsibilitiesPerform comprehensive residential home inspections in accordance with company standards and industry best practicesInspect major systems including roofing, structure, exterior, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, insulation, and ventilationAccurately identify material defects, safety concerns, and major system deficienciesDeliver clear, organized, and photo-documented inspection reports within required timeframesProvide clients with a professional on-site summary of findings at the conclusion of the inspectionCommunicate findings clearly and confidently to clients and real estate professionalsRecommend ancillary services (radon testing, sewer scope inspections, mold testing, etc.) when appropriateMaintain company equipment and vehicle in clean, safe, and professional conditionFollow company scheduling, documentation, and reporting proceduresParticipate in ongoing training, team meetings, and professional developmentRepresent Total House Inspection with professionalism and integrity at every inspection Qualifications & SkillsInterNACHI certification (or equivalent nationally recognized certification such as ASHI) requiredMinimum 2 years of full-time experience as a home inspector strongly preferredStrong working knowledge of residential systems including roofing, structure, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, insulation, and exterior componentsDemonstrated ability to identify material defects and safety concerns accurately and consistentlyStrong written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, organized, and defensible reportsConfident verbal communication skills — able to explain technical findings in straightforward, professional languageProfessional demeanor with strong customer service skillsEffective time management and ability to complete inspections efficiently without sacrificing qualityComfortable using inspection software, mobile devices, and digital tools in the fieldValid driver’s license with clean driving recordAbility to work independently while adhering to company standards and proceduresCoachable, accountable, and committed to continuous improvementHighly Preferred:Proven track record of positive client reviewsExperience performing ancillary services such as radon testing, sewer scope inspections, and mold samplingBackground in construction, skilled trades, architecture, or related fieldCompany DescriptionTotal House Inspection is a growing residential inspection company serving Southeast Michigan. Salary : $50,000 - $85,000
