Join our dynamic optical team as an Optician/Optical Sales Associate, where your expertise will help customers see clearly and feel confident in their eyewear choices. In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service, assist with selecting and fitting eyewear, and support the overall operation of our optical department. Your knowledge ensures a fulfilling experience for every patient!
Duties
- Greet customers and assess their optical needs
- Educate patients on lens options, frame styles, and proper eyewear care
- Assist with the measurement, fitting, adjustment, and repair of eyewear to ensure optimal comfort and vision correction
- Operate optical equipment such as laboratory tools for lens edging and calibration, maintaining aseptic techniques when necessary
- Manage patient records accurately within our EMR system while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
- Support medical staff by understanding medical billing, coding procedures, vital signs documentation, and medical records management
- Promote retail sales by providing personalized recommendations based on customer preferences, lifestyle needs, and retail math principles to meet sales goals
Experience
- Previous experience working in an optical setting or retail environment with a focus on customer service or sales
- Familiarity with EMR systems or similar platforms used in practices for managing patient data within HIPAA compliance
- Laboratory experience related to lens fabrication or adjustment is preferred but not required
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and excellent communication skills
