Duties
- Assist customers in selecting the perfect eyewear by leveraging your understanding of spectacle lens dispensing, eyewear fittings, and frame adjustments.
- Provide expert guidance on optical products, including lenses, frames, and contact lenses, ensuring each recommendation aligns with individual needs and prescriptions.
- Operate POS systems and cash registers efficiently to process transactions accurately while maintaining excellent customer service.
- Conduct basic eye assessments such as vital signs and physiology checks when necessary, supporting clinical evaluations in compliance with health regulation policies.
- Maintain detailed medical records and electronic health records (EHR/EMR), adhering strictly to HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Educate customers on proper eyewear care, safety standards, and the importance of regular eye exams in accordance with state healthcare regulations.
Experience
- Proven retail sales experience with a focus on optical or healthcare products is highly preferred.
- Hands-on laboratory experience with spectacle lens dispensing, eyewear fittings, frame adjustments, and optical laboratory procedures.
- Experience working with EMR/EHR systems and POS platforms to manage patient information and sales transactions effectively.
- Previous clinic or retail optometry experience is advantageous, especially involving pediatrics or senior care populations.
- Ability to perform aseptic techniques when handling optical equipment or during minor repairs to ensure safety standards are met.
