Experienced Optician – Full-Time
Well-established Ophthalmology/Optometry practice is seeking an experienced, energetic, and highly motivated Optician to join our growing team.
The ideal candidate will have previous optical experience and a strong commitment to providing exceptional patient care. We are looking for a detail-oriented professional who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building relationships with patients, and takes pride in delivering personalized eyewear solutions.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional, patient-focused optical service from frame selection through dispensing.
- Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses that meet their vision needs, lifestyle, and preferences.
- Take accurate measurements and ensure proper frame fit and adjustments.
- Educate patients on lens options, coatings, materials, and eyewear products.
- Verify vision and optical insurance benefits and accurately explain coverage and patient responsibility.
- Work with insurance plans including EyeMed, VSP, Spectera, and Davis Vision.
- Experience with Medicaid and Medicare billing/benefits is strongly preferred.
- Process optical orders, payments, and insurance claims accurately.
- Maintain detailed patient records and follow established office procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with optometrists, ophthalmologists, technicians, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Stay current on new optical products, technologies, and industry practices.
- Contribute to a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working as an Optician is required.
- Strong knowledge of optical products, lenses, frames, measurements, and dispensing.
- Experience with EyeMed, VSP, Spectera, and Davis Vision preferred.
- Experience with Medicaid and Medicare preferred.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and expand ophthalmic and optical skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to overall team success.
- ABO certification/licensure is a plus, if applicable.
Location & Training
Training will take place at our Wyoming, MN location. Following training, placement may be available at any of our four optical locations:
- North Branch
- Chisago City
- Wyoming
- Blaine
