Position Summary:
The Director of Talent Management (HR) leads and oversees all aspects of People & Culture operations related to employee relations, personnel records, benefits and compensation, compliance (EEOC, FMLA, ADA, etc.), and policy management. This role supervises the P&C Talent Management Team, including the Generalist, Personnel Records Specialist, and Benefits & Compensation Specialist, and works collaboratively with the Director of Talent Acquisition to ensure a seamless employee experience from hire through ongoing development.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management:
o Supervise the P&C Talent Management Team (Generalist, Personnel Records Specialist, Benefits & Compensation Specialist).
o Provide coaching, performance management, and development opportunities.
o Partner with the Director of Talent Acquisition to align hiring strategies with workforce planning.
· Employee Relations & Compliance:
o Provide guidance on policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, and promotion opportunities.
o Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws, including EEOC, FMLA, ADA, and others.
o Manage complex employee relations issues and oversee resolution processes.
o Handle unemployment claims, including responses, documentation, and coordination with legal or finance teams.
· Personnel Records Management:
o Own and maintain accurate, up-to-date personnel records, both physical and digital.
o Ensure secure storage, timely updates, and proper documentation to support audits and internal HR processes.
· Benefits & Compensation Administration:
o Lead implementation and annual updates of compensation programs, including salary surveys, merit pools, and analysis.
o Oversee benefits administration, including claims resolution, policy evaluation, change reporting, and invoice approvals.
· Policies, Procedures & Employee Communications:
o Develop, recommend, and implement personnel policies and procedures.
o Maintain and update the employee handbook to reflect current practices and compliance requirements.
o Provide employees and prospective employees with clear guidance on policies, benefits, and career opportunities.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
· SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent HRCI senior HR certification required.
· 5–9 years of progressive Human Resources experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role (Director or Assistant Director level).
· Solid background in HR within nonprofit, social services, or healthcare organizations.
· Advanced, deep knowledge of employment law, benefits, compensation, employee relations, FMLA, ADA, and EEOC compliance.
· Proven experience supervising HR or Talent Management teams, including generalists and specialists.
· Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, handbooks, and organizational procedures.
· Experience managing personnel records, both physical and digital, ensuring compliance and audit readiness.
· Strong experience with HRIS systems to manage employee data, generate reports, and support HR operations.
· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
· High emotional intelligence, professionalism, and ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion.
· Strategic mindset with strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, capable of leading HR initiatives from development through execution.
· Ability to manage unemployment claims, complex employee relations issues, and cross-departmental HR projects.
· Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
· Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
· Other duties as assigned
Preferred:
· Experience in healthcare or social services environments.
