Responsibilities:
- Execute airframe maintenance and structural repairs on aircraft slated for paint and refinishing.
- Inspect, repair, and fabricate composite components such as radomes, fairings, and flight-control surfaces.
- Efficiently remove, prep, and reinstall flight controls and panels to assist paint operations.
- Conduct thorough inspections of finished paintwork, confirming surface quality and color accuracy to authorize aircraft service.
- Coordinate with paint technicians to ensure protective masking complies with engineering specifications.
- Implement corrosion-prevention measures and sealants before paint application.
- Accurately document maintenance and inspections in compliance with FAA, company, and customer requirements.
- Maintain shop tooling and repair supplies in pristine, calibrated condition.
- Comply with all safety protocols and PPE requirements, adhering to hazardous material handling procedures.
Requirements:
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate is essential.
- A preferred qualification as a Designated Inspector for final paint acceptance.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance, focusing on structural and composite repairs.
- Preferred experience in an aircraft painting or refinishing environment.
- Proficient understanding of composite lay-up, vacuum bagging, resin systems, and curing processes.
- Demonstrated skill in performing and documenting final aircraft paint inspections.
- Authorized to lawfully work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Must pass a comprehensive background check.
- Classified as a Safety-Sensitive role, subject to pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing per FAA regulations.
