Position Summary:
The Assistant Controller is responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting strategic financial planning within the organization. This role manages financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls for three to six entities’ books.
Responsibilities of the Role:
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements and reports
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of financial reporting, planning, and budgeting systems
- Oversee the preparation of periodic reporting and required legal filings
- Ensure that all corporate and required accounting policies and procedures are documented and followed by the organization
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls
- Support audits and coordinate with external auditors
- Collaborate with other departments to support business objectives
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings
- Assist in developing other accounting and finance professionals
- Performs other duties as assigned and deemed appropriate by management
Requirements of the Role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or related field
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience with at least 3 years in manufacturing
- Advanced in Microsoft Excel, financial software (e.g., QuickBooks Online), and ERP system
- Self-motivated with initiative and ability to work independently
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-department collaboration
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development

- Cost accounting
