Tosoh Bioscience LLC is a major supplier of chromatography products to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and chemical industries. Our product line includes:TSKgel®, TOYOPEARL®, and Ca Pure-HA® bulk media, TSKgel U/HPLC columns, process development products, dedicated systems for GPC analysis, and the LenS3™ MALS detector. We have optimal solutions for biological research, drug discovery, medicinal chemistry, agriculture, manufacturing, or other industrial applications.

Summary

The Product Specialist is responsible for driving the commercial success of integrated solutions that combine multiple product lines to address market needs. This role works closely with Strategic Product Managers, the Marketing Communications team, and regional Sales teams to ensure effective go-to-market execution, including campaign development, customer engagement, and sales enablement. By aligning solution messaging with core product positioning, the Product Specialist ensures that offerings are tailored to local markets and support revenue growth. The individual in this role will drive the global commercialization of new and existing solutions, empowering Tosoh Bioscience to achieve its vision and organizational objectives through alignment, collaboration, and market-driven insights.

Reporting Relationships

  • Reports to the Head of Global Product Management – Process Solutions. This position has no direct reports.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Commercial Responsibilities (75%)

  • Own and drive the success of integrated solutions, combining multiple product lines to deliver comprehensive offerings tailored to market needs.
  • Collaborate with MarCom and Strategic Product Managers to develop and execute campaigns.
  • Execute product launches in defined target markets, ensuring consistency with global product positioning.
  • Support sales in qualified pre-sales activities for high-potential opportunities, including customer meetings, technical demonstrations, lease offering, customer sample analysis, and advanced presentations.
  • Gather and analyze market intelligence, customer feedback, and competitive insights, providing structured inputs to Strategic Product Managers and Application Scientists to refine solution offerings.
  • Organize and oversee product testing programs and collaborations with selected customers, providing feedback to Strategic Product Managers to inform product development, application activities, and product positioning.
  • Localize and deliver training and educational materials, equipping Sales teams and channel partners with effective knowledge of product solutions and applications.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Uphold and adhere to the Tosoh Bioscience culture and guiding principles.

Strategic Responsibilities (25%)

  • Represent regional and market perspectives in product roadmaps and go-to-market strategies, ensuring balanced market-driven decisions.
  • Collaborate with Strategic Product Managers to refine solution messaging and global content for New Product Introductions (NPIs).
  • Contribute to campaign design by advising on key events and delivery channels.
  • Enhance global training and marketing assets by incorporating insights, best practices, and success stories from different markets.
  • Contribute to cross-regional knowledge-sharing initiatives, continuously improving commercial product management best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Business, or a related field.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of practical experience in process chromatography and method development. Experience in continuous/multi-column chromatography is a plus.
  • Experience in Product Management, Commercial Strategy, or Sales within fields directly relevant to this role is preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrates the aptitude and motivation to contribute effectively to go-to-market execution, sales enablement, and commercial strategy development, with a commitment to professional growth in these areas.
  • Able to focus on understanding and addressing customer needs through direct engagement, sales support, and solution positioning.
  • Results driven with an execution mindset, ensuring effective implementation of product launches, sales enablement, and regional go-to-market activities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills are required.
  • Must be highly motivated, self-directed, and very well organized, with the ability to work independently.
  • The ability to interact with colleagues and customers from multiple disciplines at all levels.
  • The ability to get along with others and succeed in a team environment.
  • Fluent English verbal and written communication skills.
