Position Overview
We are seeking a California-based attorney to join our practice in a remote capacity, with in-person court appearances required for trials. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced litigator to handle complex and diverse insurance defense cases from inception through trial.
Required Qualifications
- Active membership in the California State Bar
- 3-7 years of litigation experience
- Strong litigation skills and desire to try cases
- Ability to work independently while contributing to team objectives
- Willingness to travel within California for court appearances and trials
Preferred Qualifications
- Insurance defense litigation experience
- Experience in taking depositions and examinations under oath
- Track record of successful motion practice
- Experience in developing case strategy with clients
- Background in handling cases through trial as lead attorney
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full lifecycle of cases from initial assignment through resolution
- Develop and execute case strategies in collaboration with clients
- Conduct depositions and examinations under oath
- Draft and argue motions
- Prepare legal opinions and analysis
- Lead trials as first chair
- Work effectively in a remote environment while maintaining strong team collaboration
