Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Concrete Estimator role based in Modesto, CA. The Concrete Estimator will review project plans, specifications, and addenda to prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and detailed cost estimates for foundations, slabs, and structural concrete scopes. The role includes soliciting and evaluating vendor and subcontractor quotes, analyzing labor, material, and equipment costs, and preparing clear, competitive bid proposals. The Concrete Estimator will collaborate closely with project managers, superintendents, and the pre-construction team to validate scope, clarify design intent, and refine budgets throughout the bidding and pre-construction phases. Day-to-day responsibilities also involve maintaining estimating databases, updating historical cost records, attending pre-bid meetings, and supporting value engineering and schedule alignment efforts to help secure and deliver successful projects.

Qualifications
- Proficiency in concrete estimating, including quantity takeoffs, unit cost development, and bid proposal preparation for foundations, slabs, and structural concrete.
- Experience reading and interpreting architectural, structural, and civil drawings, along with specifications and related construction documents.
- Familiarity with estimating software, spreadsheet tools, and basic BIM or digital takeoff platforms used in pre-construction planning.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills to compare bids, assess risks, and support value engineering options.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and clients in a clear and professional manner.
- Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines, stay organized under time constraints, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of concrete construction methods, field practices, and relevant building codes; familiarity with Type IIIA and multi-family or mixed-use work is a plus.
- Previous experience as a concrete estimator or in a related construction estimating role; experience in structural or framing trades is beneficial.
