Surgical Physician Assistant

Job Description:

State of the Art Bariatric and Hernia Institute in conjunction with affiliated Ambulatory Surgery Center in Torrance, CA, is seeking 2 strong, well qualified Physician Assistants to join our team.

The PAs will be working with a small group of surgeons and PAs, and at the direction of the surgeon to assist in the clinic setting before and after surgery, with opportunities to participate in surgical cases. They will provide care, recommendations, testing, and set up outpatient services related to patient care.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• See patients at the initial consultation, preop, postop and follow up visits including rounding at the hospital and on call duties, occasionally before or after clinic hours.

• On call for patient phone calls with medical questions.
• 
  
• Perform clinic procedures such as suture removals, drain pull, minor wound care.
• 
  
• Maintain proper documentation and complete all appropriate medical record documentation requirements.

• Responsible for managing the medical team.
• 
  
• Be detail oriented regarding patient care, attend meetings and help out in whatever way is necessary to ensure the vitality and growth of the practice.
• 
  
• Promote a friendly, warm and exceptional patient experience.
• 
  
• Assist surgeons with surgical cases (when needed) in the operating room at ASC and hospitals.

Skills/Qualifications

• New grads welcome!
• 
  
• Active PA-C California License is required at the time of application
• 
  
• The applicant must be board certified and must have active/or eligible for NPI and DEA numbers
• 
  
• Bariatric Surgery Experience is definitely a plus
• 
  
• Excellent assessment and clinical skills
• 
  
• Physician Assistant Master Degree
• 
  
• Proven time management, organizational and follow-up skills
• 
  
• Experience with EMR (Practice Fusion and HST) software experience a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Commensurate with experience, range: $120,000.00- $140,000.00 /year
