What are the responsibilities and job description for the Packager position at Torkelson Cheese Co.?
Monday Starting at 12PM. Tues- Friday Starting at 6:00AM!
Starting at $18/hour
Duties and Responsibilities include the following but not limited to:
- Responsible for maintaining effective organization of the dry storage areas via inventory management of the cases and bags while maintain the cleanliness of the space.
- Responsible for maintaining effective organization of the dry storage and cooler through inventory management, FIFO, Stock Rotation and product movement where applicable.
- Responsible for preforming the pre-operational inspection and documentation of the metal detector
- Responsible for the labeling of cheese and/or case per internal and/or customer requirements
- Responsible for proper stacking of pallets
- Responsible for food safety and security by ensuring incoming packaging-related shipments are in-tact, are not compromised and meet Torkelson Cheese receiving criteria.
- Participates in order fulfillment per customer request/requirements documenting the contents and the weights of each package supplying documentation as applicable.
- Responsible for loading and unloading of trucks, performing trailer inspection and temperature verifications as needed.
- Responsible for the cleaning and sanitizing of all equipment, shelves, carts, floors and walls.
- Responsible for communicating any safety or quality issues with Management in a timely and professional manner.
- May be responsible for various maintenance activities, as qualified, and as assigned. Cleans and sanitizes area and tools as required.
- Responsible for developing and revising the Production Schedule based on both customer needs and production demands.
Job Requirements:
- Maintain very good attendance
- Able to lift 50 lbs frequently.
- Work in hot, humid and wet environment
- Stand and walk on a constant basis
- Take direction from a supervisor
- Read and understand instructions
