What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Superintendent position at Torcsill Foundations Inc?
PURPOSE
Responsible to manage the overall safety, supervision, preparation, and training of the field service staff in coordination with the District Manager. Develops, compiles and keeps current product documentation in support of installation or servicing of helical piles. This position will work closely with counterparts in the organization to maintain consistent development and delivery of the services and installation of products, presentation of load tests, or training activities. Provides consultation or guidance on technical services when in contact with field service staff, current customers, or potential customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Provides and ensures high-quality service to customers during supervision on jobsite while constantly upholding TorcSill values
- Develops and delivers in-service training for field service staff (JSAs, safety meetings, technical training, etc.)
- Reviews larger-scale job in detail before arriving on location to ensure training, processes, manpower, and equipment are in place before the job is dispatched
- Supervises the load out and ongoing maintenance of equipment and ensures crews under his or her supervision are job-ready
- Inputs compiles and reports accurate data regarding the production, costs and quality of crews under his or her supervision.
- Assists the District Manager with dispatching jobs as needed
- Ensures all TorcSill and customer safety policies and procedures are carried out at the shop and on the jobsite
- Occasionally makes sales calls to improve the overall customer base as directed by the District Manager
COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Must have excellent, technical-level, working knowledge of TorcSill products, installation processes and equipment.
- Strong supervisory skills and interpersonal communications abilities. Highly developed organizational skills and ability to prioritize, plan, and execute assigned tasks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, OneDrive), ability to learn and use other systems as may be implemented.
- Flexibility in work schedule
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Maintains all safety training requirements and valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Pass certification process for installation and keep certification card on person at all times
- Able to read, interpret, and analyze blueprints and drawings of jobsites
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- Experience in field work and heavy customer contact is considered valuable and a critical key to the success of this position as well as staff development
- Two to three years history of demonstrated success in work experience in customer-related activities
- Maintains all safety training requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Certified TorcSill installer.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general mechanical and technical procedures or government regulations in English.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external customers whose first language is English.

SUPERVISION
Works under the general supervision of the District Manager(s). Leads and directs the work of Crew Leaders and Field Technicians.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires domestic travel to customer job sites on a regular basis (50-75% of the time) and may require travel for training purposes, demonstrations, or conferences.
