Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Registered Nurse specializing in inpatient substance abuse care. In this vital role, you will provide expert nursing support to individuals battling addiction, ensuring they receive safe, effective, and personalized care throughout their recovery journey. Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients in inpatient substance abuse programs.
- Administer medications, and other treatments, following strict aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Monitor patient vital signs, conduct physical examinations, and evaluate patient responses to treatment interventions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care, discharge planning, and ongoing support strategies.
- Educate patients and their families about addiction recovery processes, medication management, and health coaching.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control standards while providing exceptional patient care.
Skills
- Proven experience in inpatient or acute care settings, including hospital medicine or ICU experience.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Skilled in medication administration, IV insertion, catheter care, and aseptic technique.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for documentation and patient records management.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform thorough patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and physical examinations confidently.
- Excellent communication skills combined with a compassionate approach to patient education and support.
