Position Summary
Torch Clean Energy is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Asset Manager to manage, operate, troubleshoot, optimize, and report facility production and financial performance for solar, energy storage, substation, and transmission line projects. This role reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Engineering, Procurement and Construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a full range of service providers including O&M, LTSA, SCADA, CMMS, and potentially construction services as needed for all phases of project long-term operation.
- Manage financial performance including monthly optimization and reporting internally and to stakeholders, including financing partners. Responsible for budgeting, revenue and operating expenses.
- Manage uncertainty and originate creative solutions to prevent performance deficiencies including production, availability, obligations to off-takers, financing parties and regulators.
- Thoroughly understand PPA, LGIA, LTSA, O&M, EPC contracts to manage contractor performance and project compliance.
- Leverage and enhance as needed, full capability of data systems while maintaining highest standards of uptime and cyber security.
- Continually evaluate compliance with federal regulations including NERC, FERC, and ISO/RTO requirements.
- Establish and foster contractor, equipment supplier, off-taker, and property owner relationships to facilitate consistent performance and new opportunities.
- Coordinate with project teams, ensuring effective project hand-off and share new ideas with Developer and EPC groups.
- Evaluate ongoing vendor performance to ensure services and materials meet consistent quality standards and contractual obligations.
- Seek and review latest products, services and methods to align and optimize operation plans with evolving risk profile and business objectives.
Preferred Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in the utility scale renewable energy industry
- Thorough and practical knowledge of utility scale generation, energy storage, controls, MV, HV, systems
- Strong working knowledge of NERC compliance programs, especially GOP and GO requirements as well as federal and state regulations
- Experience with developing CMMS processes, accounting software/tools and Microsoft Office
- Strong PV, electrical systems, SCADA and performance and troubleshooting expertise
- Demonstrated experience with ISO/RTO regulations and requirements
