SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Manager of Safety and Environmental Health, position is responsible for coordinating overall Safety, Health, and Environmental management systems for TOPY America. Based in Frankfort, Kentucky, this position is responsible for supporting Safety and Environmental Health improvements and compliance for operations/facilities in Frankfort, KY, Chicago, Nashville, and Salt Lake City.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Analyze all facilities compliance and monitor/maintain/complete necessary documentation.
2. Assist in the development of plant programs to promote and maintain safe and healthy environments.
3. Devise methods of Safety Training programs that elevate Safety consciousness and awareness for all Associates and Staff.
4. Implement and measure the effectiveness of these programs for continuous improvement.
5. Assist in the supervision and monitoring the activities of the Waste Water Department and Staff.
6. Assist in efforts to maximize plant utility conservation.
7. Analyze all new equipment and systems to understand their impact on Safety and verify/approve for operation.
8. Communicate with associates, physicians and insurance carriers regarding Workers Compensation issues.
9. Certify Associate’s use of forklifts and cranes.
10. Analyze present and future PPE requirements and needs of the Company.
11. Monitor utility usage, including gas and electric.
12. Other job-related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental, or related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years experience in the management of Safety & Environmental functions/aspects in a manufacturing facility.
3. Knowledge of OSHA and EPA requirements and the ability to interact with these agencies.
4. Possess excellent computer skills.
5. Experience with testing of personnel regarding required OSHA and other compliance requirements. Ability to cultivate goodwill and use diplomacy, teamwork, and effective interaction skills to promote improvement and buy-in for Safety and Environmental programs both internally and externally.
6. Preferred: Experience operating a waste water treatment facility or knowledge of chemicals or additives. Waste Treatment Operator’s License.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position does not have direct reports.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computes, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing some duties of this job, the employee is exposed to dust particles, chemicals utilized on the premises and mobile equipment. The noise level on the job site can be loud.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. To navigatethe area the individual will need to be able to walk moderate distances, climb a limited amount of stairs, and have the ability to communicate with operators safely.
POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
