Description

Primary Role:
The Program Coordinator coordinates KSP's statewide Confiscated Firearms Auction and reports directly to the KSP Supply Branch Manager. This position is responsible for the intake of all confiscated firearms not retained by official use and prepare them for public auction. The Program Coordinator must remain apprised of any federal and/or state laws regarding the destruction, disposal, and sale of all firearms.

The Program Coordinator must remain apprised of any federal and/or state laws regarding the destruction, disposal, and sale of all firearms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinates all inter- or intra-unit administrative functions of specific programs on a statewide basis.
- Maintains agency tracking system of firearms received, destroyed, or retained for agency use and sold at public auction.
- Prepares firearms for auction.
- Creates reports and videos of firearms to be posted for auction.
- Reviews and approves or denies applications for auction participation.
- Coordinates with auction winners’ pickups and payments.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Ability to work as a team and independently.
- Ability to communicate professionally.
- Basic knowledge of firearms, firearm safety, and federal and state firearm laws.
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three years of professional experience in management or administration.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A master's degree will substitute for one year of the required experience.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Administrative or business experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE
Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting. Minimal travel may be required.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
