What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Dock Hand position at TopSide Marinas?
Reports to: Marina General Manager
The Seasonal Dock Hands responsibility is to provide high quality service to customers at the dock. This position requires the team member to work 5 days per week and 8 hours per day. Seasonal schedule changes may take place at management discretion.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide immediate assistance to customers at the dock
- Provide friendly service while selling and stocking inventory
- Assist with checking boats in and out
- Clean ramp and steps regularly
- Must be able to lift, carry, and push up to 50 lbs
- Perform other duties as assigned or apparent
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
- Act with the highest level of integrity and maintain a positive attitude
- Must be age 16 or older
- Must be available to work weekends and shifts beginning at 7:30am and ending at 8:00pm
- Must be able to work all summer holidays
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to stand for the entire workday
- Must be able to multitask
- Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be friendly to all customers and team members
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, early mornings, and evenings
- Strong passion for providing excellent hospitality and customer service
- Maintain a thorough understanding of all marina operations to be able to assist at all times
- Adaptable to work composed of a variety of different tasks
- Ability to manage multiple projects at a time despite interruptions
- Ability to make independent decisions and determine the appropriate course of action
- Professional conduct and excellent interpersonal and communication skills with team members, customers, tenants, vendors, and government personnel
- Strong work ethic and personal commitment
- Ability to work in a team environment to achieve team, department, and company goals
- Ability to be a self-starter and work independently
- Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work
