What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Dental Hygienist position at Topsail Dental?
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice located in the beautiful coastal town of Hampstead, NC. We are a well established and growing practice with amazing patients and we encourage a healthy work-life balance. The ideal candidate will have a passion for oral health and providing exceptional patient care. The start date for this position will be between January 18-25, 2027.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform dental cleanings (prophylaxis to deep cleanings) and assist the dentist with oral exams on patients to assess dental health
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventative care
- Take x-rays and perform other diagnostic procedures as needed
- Administer local anesthetic (if licensed)
- Apply fluoride treatments
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment plans
- Follow all infection control and safety protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff
Qualifications:
- Valid North Carolina dental hygienist license
- Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently as a member of a team
- Knowledge of dental software systems preferred
- CPR certification required
