Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) – Periodontal Specialty Practice

Location: Wilmington, NC; Leland, NC
Job Type: Full-time, In-person
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 32-36 hours per week

• Provide periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planing, and preventive hygiene treatment.
• Assess, chart, and monitor patients' periodontal conditions accurately.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques, home care routines, nutrition, and lifestyle factors affecting periodontal health.
• Develop individualized home care recommendations to support long-term oral health.
• Collaborate with the doctor and team to provide coordinated, high-quality patient care.
• Obtain dental radiographs and impressions as needed.
• Maintain accurate and thorough patient records and clinical documentation.
• Prioritize patient comfort and provide a positive, supportive patient experience.
• Follow infection control, sterilization, radiation safety, and workplace safety protocols.
• Follow professional ethics, patient confidentiality requirements, and practice policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in North Carolina.
• High school diploma or GED
• A two-year Diploma in Dental Hygiene *Local anesthesia certificate strongly recommended but can be completed after hire
• At least 1 year of dental hygiene experience.
• Local anesthetic certification ideal (can help attain if interested)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Proficiency with computers and dental practice management software.

Schedule

• Full-time position, 32-36 hours per week.
• Monday–Thursday: Patient care.
• Friday: Administrative responsibilities.
• In-person position in Wilmington, NC & Leland, NC
