We are building the next generation of Comfort & Recovery Footwear and are seeking a highly experienced retail sales leader to drive our expansion across North America’s largest retail chains.

Position Summary

This is a strategic leadership role responsible for developing and expanding relationships with major North American retailers.

The successful candidate will lead business development, account management, product commercialization, and long-term retail partnerships with key national accounts.

We are not looking for a traditional salesperson.

We are looking for a proven retail business builder who understands how major retailers operate and has the ability to create meaningful business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Retail Business Development

• Develop new business opportunities with major retailers including Walmart, Costco, Target, Sam’s Club, TJX, Ross, Burlington, Big Lots, and other national retail chains.

• Build and maintain relationships with Buyers, Category Managers, Merchandising Managers, Sourcing Directors, and Retail Executives.

• Identify category opportunities and drive strategic growth initiatives.

Account Management

• Lead key customer relationships and serve as the primary contact for assigned retail accounts.

• Manage annual business plans, forecasting, sales targets, pricing strategies, and promotional programs.

• Conduct regular business reviews with customers.

Product Development & Commercialization

• Work closely with TOPS GROUP product development teams to identify market opportunities.

• Translate retailer requirements into commercially successful products.

• Manage projects from concept development through sampling, costing, order placement, production, shipment, and payment collection.

Supply Chain & Operations Coordination

• Coordinate with manufacturing facilities in China, Vietnam, and Indonesia.

• Ensure on-time delivery, compliance, quality performance, and customer satisfaction.

• Support inventory planning, replenishment programs, and forecasting activities.

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum 5 years of direct experience working with major U.S. retail chains.

• Proven experience managing strategic retail accounts.

• Strong understanding of retail buying cycles and merchandising processes.

• Experience in footwear, slippers, apparel, home products, sporting goods, or consumer goods industries.

• Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.

• Ability to travel as required.

• Existing relationships with buyers or sourcing teams at Walmart, Costco, Target, Sam’s Club, TJX, Ross, Burlington, or similar retailers.

• Experience managing private label programs.

• Experience working with global sourcing organizations.

• Experience working with Asian manufacturing partners.
