TOPPAN Packaging Americas Holding Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Summer Intern to support the Legal Department. This role will focus on intellectual property data management, system accuracy, and administrative support within key legal platforms, including Tradespace and LawVu. The intern will work closely with the Senior Paralegal to ensure the integrity and organization of patent and trademark records.
What You’ll Be Doing
Tradespace – Data Entry & System Management
- Enter and update patent and trademark case information, including filing, registration, and grant dates
- Perform regular data integrity checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of records
- Identify discrepancies and correct errors within the system
- Retrieve trademark registration certificates from the USPTO website
- Upload and properly link trademark documentation within the Tradespace application
- Review contract and matter records within LawVu for accuracy
- Validate effective dates, key milestone dates, and termination dates
- Ensure consistency and completeness of legal data across the system
- Flag inconsistencies or issues and escalate as appropriate
We’d Love To Hear From You If
- Current undergraduate or graduate student (preferably in Legal Studies, Business, Finance, or a related field)
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Excellent organizational and data management skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Familiarity with legal systems, intellectual property, or database tools is a plus but not required
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Reliable, proactive, and eager to learn
- Exposure to intellectual property management processes
- Hands-on experience with legal management systems (Tradespace and LawVu)
- Understanding of trademark and patent lifecycle tracking
- Development of data governance and compliance skills within a corporate legal function
- Collaborative corporate legal team environment
