Summary Description
The Lead Inspector Packer is responsible for inspecting thermoformed products, packaging finished goods according to customer specifications, and leading Packer/Inspector activities throughout the production process. This role provides training, guidance, and support to team members while ensuring quality, safety, and productivity standards are met.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead, train, and direct Packer/Inspectors and daily production activities
- Monitor production processes and complete production reports
- Track and report scrap and production data as required
- Remove completed thermoformed sheets from thermoforming machines
- Visually inspect products and separate non-conforming materials according to quality standards
- Report quality concerns and non-conforming products to operators and Quality personnel
- Assemble cartons and packaging materials
- Remove individual parts from thermoformed sheets and stack according to specifications
- Pack finished products into cartons and seal boxes according to customer requirements
- Maintain accurate part counts and production records
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
- Train new Packer/Inspectors on procedures, quality standards, and packing methods
- Coordinate secondary operations and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Use calipers and measuring instruments to verify specifications when required
- Recommend improvements to specification sheets and packing procedures
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- You have experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- You have at least 1 year of Packer/Inspector experience
- You possess strong leadership and training abilities
- You have a solid understanding of quality control procedures
- You can read and interpret job specification sheets
- You can read, write, and perform basic math calculations
- You have excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- You have strong written and verbal communication skills
- You can continuously stand, walk, reach, and lift throughout the shift
- You are self-motivated and willing to support team success
- Experience with IQMS is preferred
- Continuous standing, walking, reaching, and movement throughout the shift
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Good vision and manual dexterity
- Exposure to heat, greases, lubricants, and manufacturing conditions
- Ability to bend, climb, push, pull, and perform repetitive motions
