Summary Description
While reporting to the Lab Supervisor, the Quality Technician I is responsible for ensuring customer quality expectations, both internal and external, are met or exceeded. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent attendance, and the ability to work successfully in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while collaborating across multiple teams.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Conduct required off-line testing to confirm products meet customer specifications
- Accurately enter quality data into customized data sheets and analyze trends over time
- Interact with machine operators to raise awareness of defects and document corrective actions when needed
- Maintain lab data filing systems and physical retention storage
- Work collaboratively across departments throughout the plant
- Assist in analyzing quality metrics, internal rejections, process capability data, and customer feedback
- Ensure customer returns are checked in accurately and on time
- Participate actively in quality initiatives
- Participate actively on at least one safety team
- You have working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- You have strong written and verbal communication skills
- You can communicate effectively with management and plant associates
- You can lift up to 50 pounds as needed and stand for long periods
- You can read and understand manufacturing instructions
- You can work independently with strong attention to detail
- You are comfortable with mandatory rotating shifts
- You are available for required overtime
