Hours: 6:45 PM- 7:17 AM ( 4 days off - 4 days on)

While reporting to the Department Manager, as the Production Team Lead, you will be responsible for collaborating and contributing to the production environment within our manufacturing operations. Safety, quality, productivity, and a strong work ethic are important to the Highland Packaging culture.
Role: Responsible for the shift of approximately 40 employees in the Extrusion Department. This role includes responsibilities with light maintenance/preventative maintenance and making process adjustments. This role interfaces with Manufacturing, Maintenance, Label Printing, and Shipping/Receiving. Must have experience working with the Microsoft suite of products (Outlook, Word, and Excel) and be willing to learn additional programs whenever necessary. Note- the sales, order entry, production, and inventory program used throughout the plant is Microsoft-based Navision.

Education And Experience
- A High School diploma or GED is preferred.
- Must have strong mechanical aptitude and ability to follow directions and troubleshoot the repair and maintenance of thermoforming lines.
- Prior inventory experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Manage tool changes and preventative maintenance as scheduled by the Maintenance Manager.
- Excellent communication skills. (This position conducts daily pre-shift “toolbox” meetings).
- Participation in the month-end close must consume all work orders as directed by the department manager.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English, understanding equipment manuals and diagrams.
- Constantly monitors and adjusts various inventories needed for daily production.
- Ability to effectively direct employees in a quickly changing, fluid environment.
- Demonstrated leadership on the production floor with interaction between all shift employees throughout the workday. Must be visible and accessible to shift employees.
- Participation in plant “safety walks” with Safety Coordinators whenever assigned.
- Must be able to set up and operate all inventory traceback programs used on the production floor.
- Ability to work a 12-hour shift, standing and walking for extended periods.
- Climbing, lifting, and carrying products weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Visually, read various safety postings, bulletin boards, operating instructions, and computer monitors/screens.
- Hear safety warning devices and alarms.
