Ext Grinder

As an Ext Grinder reporting to the Supervisor, you will be responsible for collaborating and contributing to the production environment within our manufacturing operations. Safety, quality, productivity, and a strong work ethic are essential to the Highland Packaging culture.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Responsible for all scrap being produced by both the Extrusion and Thermoforming departments. The scrap will need to be placed directly into scrap trailers and kept off the warehouse floor
• Good communication skills. Will require communication and scheduling of scrap and roll trucks with our shipping department
  
  

Education And Experience

• A High School diploma or GED is preferred.
• Must have Forklift experience
  
  

Skills And Abilities Requirements

• Good communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Must be able to adhere to strict PPE requirements, including wearing face shields, earmuffs, gloves, and steel-toe boots.
• Forklift and clamp truck driving experience. Certification will be on-site.

Other duties as assigned:

• Ability to work a 12-hour shift, standing and walking for extended periods.
• Climbing, lifting, and carrying products weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Visually read various safety postings, bulletin boards, operating instructions, and computer monitors/screens.
• Hear safety warning devices and alarms.
• Must be prompt in reporting to work and prompt in notifying the supervisor if unable to report to work.

Additional Information

Shift: 6:45 am to 7:00 pm or 6:45 pm to 7:00 am

Pay Rate: $19.30/hr. .50 shift differential
