Principal System Engineer

Tope is seeking a Principal Wasatch System Engineer to support the AF Strategic Program Information Services team in support of the Sentinel Information Services (IS) team. The selected candidate will join our Information Services team and have an important role in supporting our mission of Strategic Deterrence through continual improvement and innovation. The position will have the following duties and responsibilities:

• Deploy and configure Linux applications and services

* Installation of various COTS and GOTS software applications

* Software licensing and server certification

* Testing application functionality and ensuring proper and up-to-date security configurations

* Software removal from networks

* Responsible for training other team members on current business practices and documentation of Standard Operating Procedures

* Perform software version upgrades

* Provide Systems Administration for Linux/RHEL operating systems

* Implement and test software patches and security fixes

* Perform installation, configuration, hardening, and testing for new/updated system changes

* Develop, execute, and improve documentation for installation, configuration, hardening, and operations and maintenance tasks

* Document activities, status, and issues worked

* Provide input to and follow direction from Configuration Management processes

* Ensure adherence to IT infrastructure standards, policies, and procedures

* Assist in performing root cause analysis and resolving faults and errors in systems and applications

Position requires a current Security Certification, fully adjudicated DoD Secret or Top-Secret Security Clearance and at least 8 years’ experience and a BS degree in software engineering, computer science, software, mathematics, or related field or 6 years’ experience and a MS degree in software engineering, computer science, software, mathematics, or related field.

· EDetail oriented leader with the ability to establish and maintain foundational data and contract data management disciplines

· Experience drafting, routing and interpreting Contracting Authority correspondence

· Familiarity with requirements management, or willingness to learn DOORS

· Familiarity with systems modeling, or willingness to learn Cameo/MagicDraw

· Experience operating under a variety of changing technical, operational, and programmatic network classifications and environments

· Familiarity with SysML and UPDM, or willingness to learn SYSML and UPDM

· Demonstrated self-discipline to plan and prioritize their own work.

Other skills desired are:

· DoW related experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)

· Excellent cognitive, communication (written and spoken), and interpersonal skills

· Managerial experience operating in a high tempo environment

· Experience with DoW acquisition programs

· Digital Ecosystem and or Digital Engineering understanding, development, and knowledge-based application

· Experience or familiarity implementing architectural frameworks using SYSML.
