Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor
Summary: Under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor, the Shipping Lead oversees the shipping department and coordinates the daily work assignments. They coach team members on performance and contribute to the daily processing of both domestic and international deliveries. The Shipping Lead is responsible for driving performance to exceed safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics.

Powered industrial equipment, pallet wrapper, electric bander, etc.
Physical Environment
May sit/stand for extended periods. May require lifting up to 50lbs.

Job Description Title – Shipping Lead

The Shipping Lead is responsible for driving performance to exceed safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics.
Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Accurately pick and pack products from inventory.
- Process international and domestic shipments, to include documentation and applicable labels.
- Review customer specific packaging and shipping instructions and prepare orders for shipment.
- Communicate with freight forwarders and customers as required to coordinate freight.
- Work with other departments throughout the organization to ensure the activities of the shipping department support related goals.
- Submit maintenance requests.
- Provide receiving support as needed in their absence.
- Maintain appropriate 5S conditions, keeping warehouse aisle and locations clean and organized.
- Own the department MDI process.
- Inventory and order supplies for the department.
- Train team members on standard work and coordinate cross-training within the team.
- Ensure team members are operating and using material handling equipment safely.
- Perform other duties as required.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions in English and perform basic math.
- High attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively with team members, other departments, and management with a positive attitude.
- Self-starter, motivated, and engaged.
- Possess good communication skills, work ethic, and attendance.
- Familiarity with SAP, MS Suite, Outlook, and Workday preferred.
- Able to work independently without close supervision and provide direction to others.
- Prior warehousing experience and powered industrial lift truck certification.
